Remove Watermark without installing software
Use clean annotation removal when the PDF stores its watermark separately. If the mark is flattened into the page artwork, preview a page and draw the exact area to cover on all selected pages.
Remove a separately stored Watermark annotation or, optionally, Stamp annotations from a PDF you are authorized to edit. A mark burned into a scan or page artwork is a different case: the tool can cover an area but cannot reconstruct what lies underneath.

Practical example
Remove an obsolete draft stamp
- Run annotation removal on the authorized document.
- If the mark remains, inspect whether it is part of the artwork rather than a separate annotation.
- Use the cover mode only when hiding that visual area will not damage needed text or graphics.
Separate eligible annotations can disappear cleanly. Covering a flattened mark leaves a painted area; it is not restoration of the underlying document.
Capabilities and limits
- A cover is not secure redaction. Original text or objects behind it may still exist in the PDF.
- A watermark crossing a table or photograph cannot be cleanly removed by painting a rectangle. Obtain an unwatermarked source when possible.
When the result is unexpected
Automatic removal reports no change
The mark may be ordinary page content or another annotation type. The tool intentionally does not delete arbitrary artwork.
I need to remove sensitive information
Use the permanent Redact tool in Edit PDF, not watermark cover mode, and verify the exported file.
Check the downloaded file
Check every processed page and any important stamps. Never remove a restriction or ownership mark without authorization, and never mistake a visual cover for deletion of confidential data.

No. Separate Watermark or Stamp annotations can be removed. A flattened watermark is part of the page artwork, so the fallback covers the selected area and cannot restore content beneath it.
