Capabilities and limits

Repair does not recover erased pages, missing fonts, lost images, or corrupted text from nothing.
It does not remove encryption or preserve the validity of an existing digital signature after rewriting.

When the result is unexpected

Repair cannot open the file

Obtain a fresh download or re-export from the original application. Use Unlock first only for an authorized encrypted file.

The output opens but content is missing

Compare against the original and seek a source copy. A successful save is not proof that missing data was recovered.

Check the downloaded file

Check every page, especially the area that originally failed. Do not discard the original until you have confirmed the repaired copy contains everything needed.
